How many of you remember Udezi?? We picked him up #20 overall in 2004, and lost him as a player when he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2008. I hoped against hope for two years that he'd recover quickly and come back and play, but sadly that didn't happen.
However, he seems to have beaten the odds because we - the Vikings - have picked him up as a "coaching intern". I'm stunned by how awesome this is! Udezi got a bone-marrow transplant from his brother (go brother!) nearly five years ago, and the leukemia is still in remission (let's hope/pray it stays that way!), and has been interning as a coach ever since. How wonderful would it be if he got a permanent position as a defensive coach?
Whatever happens, Kenechi Udezi, here is one Viking who is THRILLED to see you back in purple and gold! SKOL!
