ESPYS Overview

Adrian Peterson took home the "Best Comeback" and "Best NFL Player" ESPYS tonight, which is awesome and richly deserved.  Glad to see the Vikings getting recognized on a national stage!
What I really liked was his speech - giving recognition to everyone except himself, showing his personality, laughing, joking, and right at the end with his keynote - if you work your ass off, anything can happen.

But I can understand why the ESPYS are losing money  - the more I watch, the more I have no idea what's going on.  These joke skits are awful.  The one with the kids...what?  Just what?

At least the Robin Roberts piece about her winning the Arthur Ashe Courage Award is good.  Still, with someone so courageous, it'd be hard to screw it up.  Hopefully she continues to do well and stay healthy.  And her speech is wonderful.  So nice to see a woman who can really speak!  I think speech and debate needs to be a bigger part of education.  Being well-spoken can only be an asset, no matter what you do.  "Mine is one of the lives that has been saved"  oookay, tearing up.  What a wonderful woman!
